Are you an owner of a clothing store searching for ways to attract more customers (and increase overall sales)?
The secret to higher sales may be behind the arrangement and environment of your clothing shop.
Any commercial space would stand out to potential customers if there are gorgeous interior decorations, in addition to a cosy and inviting atmosphere.
Luckily, putting together a well-decorated retail space that lures customers inside doesn’t need to hurt your pockets as a business owner.
Today, we’ll share some interior decoration tips on how you can turn your clothing stores into a more welcoming space for customers!
Start with the entrance
As with any retail space, the entrance is where passersby transition from being curious window shoppers to potential customers. It’s also known as the “decompression zone”, the area where customers feel the overall ambience of the space through the music and lighting.
These elements are critical as they can either convince or discourage the customers from further checking out your store.
The entrance is where customers make a judgment about your shop, examining if it’s a store within their budget or even a space that fits their taste.
You can take advantage of the entrance to build the mood and feeling you’d like your potential customers to associate with your store.
The goal is to sum up what your brand is all about through the entrance alone.
Create a walkable path
Unless you’re a big box store that benefits from accommodating large volumes of people all at once, your space should have an inviting path for customers.
There’s what we call a “sales path” where customers can go around to see and touch your items at hand as well as eye level. It helps business owners gain control over a customer’s retail experience, helping them decide and ultimately influencing their purchase decisions.
When designing a sale path, think about how your customers should move around. The path should lead them toward certain items, which can be emphasized through brighter lighting and larger signages.
It can also be arranged in a logical path, such as that after clothes, comes the accessories to complete the outfit, for example.
You can even use the same tile colours and patterns to guide how customers move around inside your store. It’s our instinct to follow a series of tiles of the same colour/patterns when shopping!
Decorating your retail space
You don’t always need to spend more money to attract more customers! Sometimes all it takes is to simply rearrange your shop’s decor, move some furniture pieces, take down some wall prints, and know which items to display!
That’s why it’s important to determine which interior decorations can make a retail space more welcoming to all customers. Simple but effective decor items that can make the shop space feel more homely and welcoming include area rugs.
